WHAT PROTOCOLS SHOULD I FOLLOW AFTER A Chemical PEEL?

After your chemical peel, you should avoid sun exposure. Following the application of SPF, no other product should be applied to the face until the evening, when the face may be gently washed with iS Clinical Cleansing Complex (or a gentle cleanser of your choice) and then patted dry. Do not scrub your face or drag any type of cloth over it after washing. If you feel like a moisturizer is needed, apply a generous amount of iS Clinical Sheald Recovery balm after cleansing. Avoid hot baths, saunas, excessive sweating, vigorous exercise, and/or tanning beds for 10 days post-peel. if any questions or concerns arise, please don't hesitate to reach out to Clementine's Salon and Skincare.

What Kind of Post Wax Care should I follow?

  • Be kind to your skin following a waxing service. This type of procedure can make your skin extra sensitive, so, in general, follow these simple rules:

    • Stay out of the sun! If you must go out, try wearing a loose fitting cover up to protect your skin from sun rays!

    • Avoid swimming; again, your skin is extra sensitive right now! Avoid irritants such as chlorine in pools and bacteria that may exist in other bodies of water!

    • Don’t over exfoliate! Waxing removes the top layer of dead skin in addition to the hair- any type of extra exfoliation could lead to irritation or skin damage!

    • Avoid the sauna, steam room and any type of super intense workout! Tight workout clothes and heavy activity can lead to irritation! Go get your comfy clothes and catch up on all of your favorite Netflix series.

    • Absolutely NO hookups. Remember the old adage here- distance makes the heart grow fonder!

Pre waxing tips!

  • Waxing really is a wonderful service for anyone who hates taking a razor down there… or anywhere for that matter! Here are some tips to consider when you’re booking your appointment!

    • Make sure your hair is long enough! Most of the time, estheticians recommend that your hair be at least ¼ of an inch!

    • Avoid booking an appointment while you are on your period as you may be a bit more sensitive!

    • Make sure you come in for your appointment clean. As stated in GLAMOUR magazine, “Yes, it's a kindness to your waxer that you arrive fresh and cleansed (and not right off a Spin bike), but it will also help your wax go more smoothly. Natural oils, sweat, or body lotions can prohibit wax from adhering as well.”

    • You can take a painkiller before your appointment if you deem it necessary! However, you should avoid consuming alcohol as it makes you more sensitive to pain.

During your wax appointment…

  • It doesn’t have to be awkward! Here are some tips to remember for your waxing appointment:

    • Know what you want! The options are endless but your appointment isn’t! Be sure to have a general idea of what you want going into your appointment. Here’s a cheat sheet just in case!

      • Brazilian: EVERYTHING MUST GO! From front to back, everything is waxed.

      • Bikini: Hair that would be visible in a swimsuit or panties is removed.

      • French: Like a traditional bikini wax, hair is removed from where it would be visible from a swimsuit or panty line- with a French bikini, you can have that line higher and narrower than with a traditional bikini wax!

CAN I BOOK A REFILL LASH EXTENSION SERVICE IF MY EXTENSIONS WERE PERFORMED BY ANOTHER LASH ARTIST ELSEWHERE?

If you are coming from another lash artist, a refill at Clementine’s Salon and Skincare is considered a foreign fill. The quality of the set you come in with is the determining factor of the fee. Our lash artist will assess your lashes at the time of your appointment; if the lash set is of good quality and the lashes are healthy, a refill will be the cost of a refill plus a $25 foreign fill fee. If it is below industry standard, difficult to work with, and/or the lashes are damaged, our artist will inform you what the best decision would be from that point, either: removal or rehabilitation. Foreign fills will accrue an extra fee due to the extra time our artists must allot to ensure that you're being taken care of to the highest standard and quality. Your first refill service is the ONLY one that will be charged as a Foreign Fill; every set thereafter is considered a regular fill if completed by a Clementine’s Lash Artist.

If lashes are damaged but don’t require complete removal, our artists will move towards rehabilitation, meaning each lash won’t be able to support a new extension (to allow them to regrow and heal, those lashes will be avoided). Your new set might feel lighter, but as the lashes return, your sets will get fuller! If lashes cannot be salvaged, our artist will remove them, and the lash artist and guest will decide together what would be the best decision from that point.
