We are so excited to offer microneedling. This service is an incredible for treating fine line, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and acne scarring.

PERMANENT MAKEUP

WHAT IS COSMETIC TATTOOING?

Cosmetic tattooing is also referred to as permanent makeup, semi-permanent makeup and micropigmentation. It is a process involving implanting pigments below the surface of the skin using a very small disposable set of needles or rotary or digital machine. The needles are all single-use, sterilized and produce the appearance of hair strokes, powder effects or soft-looking eyeliner for a natural-looking enhancement. Microblading is also referred to as hair-stroke brows, feather-stroke brows or 3D brows.

WILL MY TREATMENT HURT?

Each person's pain tolerance varies, however, an effective topical anesthetic is applied before and during all treatments to ensure you remain comfortable.

WHAT IS THE AGE MINIMUM FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP?

You must be 18 years of age or older to receive treatment.

WHO DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP SERVICES?

Women who are pregnant or nursing cannot receive treatment. Those who are on blood thinners cannot receive treatment. People who have uncontrolled diabetes, blood disorders, allergies to certain ingredients, Amyloidosis or cardiac valve disease cannot receive treatment. If you have questions about whether or not you are a good candidate for treatment please contact us for a complimentary consultation.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MICROBLADING AND POWDERFILL

Microblading gives very realistic results. A manual hand tool is used to gently implant pigment in to the uppermost layers of the skin creating a crisp hair-like stroke that will lighten and soften as it heals. Two to three visits may be required with microblading. Powder-fill eyebrows are still soft but give the look of a more defined, filled-in eyebrow like one would achieve using makeup.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

A minimum of 2 treatments are required for most clients. The second visit is done 6-8 weeks after your first visit and is included in your initial price. The pigment will fade and soften once it heals. The second session is an opportunity for us to evaluate how your skin has healed and assess the pigment retention. From there we can make adjustments as necessary. Do not be discouraged if your brows are lighter than desired after healing from your first treatment, the second treatment allows us to fine-tune the color, shape and density. Also, each individual will heal at different rates and retain color differently.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

Microblading is semi-permanent and the depth of the pigment is rather shallow requiring more frequent touch-ups to maintain the color. A touch up is recommended yearly. Powder brows require more pigment be implanted in to the skin so will last longer in between touch-ups. There are many factors that determine how long results will last including pigment color used, sun exposure, anti-aging products applied to the skin and professional exfoliating procedures like chemical peels. Results are not guaranteed as each skin type retains pigment differently. A second session which is included in the initial price will be used to evaluate how your skin has retained the pigment and adjust as necessary. Additional sessions may be required depending on the result desired. After the included second session, additional sessions will be charged according to the pricing on the Skin & Wax Services page.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

Taking an OTC pain reliever like Tylenol can be helpful before your appointment, an antihistamine may be helpful as well. AVOID any OTC medications that may thin your blood, this includes Vitamin E, Niacin, Ibuprofen and fish oil for 5 days before your appointment. No prescription medications should be discontinued without first consulting with your doctor. Do not drink alcohol or caffeine before your appointment or exercise directly beforehand. Please do not bring children or other people that may pose a distraction during the treatment. If you currently fill in your eyebrows, come to the appointment with them filled in. Do not wax, thread or tweeze your eyebrows for 72 hours before your appointment. If you tint your eyebrows, do so at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. You may also come with reference photos of brow shapes that you like. Do not tan before or come with an active sunburn on the area to be treated.

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY TREATED AREA?

You may have mild redness and swelling in the treatment area. Your pigment will appear dark and bold immediately afterwards and will lighten over the next 7-14 days during the healing process. You will be sent home with detailed aftercare instructions that you must absolutely follow. Following your aftercare instructions will ensure the best results from your treatment.

WITH TIME WHAT WILL MY EYEBROWS LOOK LIKE?

The pigment color that is used will naturally fade over time. During your consultation, your skin tone will be analyzed and an appropriate color will be chosen. Occasionally, pigments can fade to different tones based on the individual's response to the pigment: things like lifestyle, hormones and iron deficiencies. As the skin ages, your eyebrows will have a softer, powdered look. A refresher appointment is recommended yearly, however, results vary with each person.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF PERMANENT MAKEUP SUITES ME?

Microblading is a great, natural-looking option for almost everyone. Powder-fills will suit the individual who wants bolder eyebrows and who regularly fills them in with makeup. However, individuals with very oily skin may not be good candidates for microblading as the hair strokes will not heal as crisp as desired. Those with an iron deficiency and/or anemia may lose pigment faster and require refresher treatments more often.

IS PERMANENT MAKEUP SAFE?

Great care is taken to provide a sterile treatment area. All supplies, including needles, are single-use and disposed of properly after treatment. After treatment, the work space is thoroughly disinfected. All OSHA and DORA standards and protocols are strictly followed to ensure both the clients' and provider's safety.

PERMANENT MAKEUP AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Your eyebrows may feel tender, have minor swelling and/or redness immediately following the procedure-this is normal. It typically resolved within 24-48 hours. You may take an OTC pain reliever if needed.

  • For 24 hours after your procedure, keep your eyebrows completely DRY. Do not allow any water to touch them.

  • Day 2-14, you may begin cleaning your eyebrows with a cotton pad and water. Squeeze out the excess water and GENTLY blot and wipe the area to remove any buildup, DO NOT RUB. Dry with a clean paper towel or let air dry.

  • As your skin heals, scabbing and/or flaking of the eyebrows will appear. This is normal. They may feel itchy, tight and dry. You may apply a SMALL amount of unscented lotion, coconut oil or grapeseed oil with a q-tip to the area. Make sure it is a THIN layer of product as too much can affect pigment retention.

  • Do not apply any products containing petroleum to your eyebrows during the healing process. These include Vaseline, Aquaphor, A&D ointment and Neosporin.
