HOW DOES CLEMENTINE’S BOOK APPOINTMENTS?

For haircut appointments, we typically book a 45 minute/1 hour appointment depending on the length and thickness of your hair. Please bring to our attention if you have long and/or thick hair.

For color appointments, we double book. Double booking means that we apply your color, then we see another client while you process in the waiting area. The processing time is approximately 45 minutes. Once we are finished with the other client, we will finish your service.

WHAT IS CLEMENTINE’S CANCELLATION POLICY?

We appreciate a call 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment. When cancelling an appointment with less than 24 hour notice, it impacts Clementine’s and the opportunity to service other clients.
We understand that emergencies and last minute plans come up. Therefore, we have a policy that is sensitive to our clients’ lives and enforce a policy based on not just one cancellation, but two cancellations.
In the case of two cancellations with less than 24 hour notice, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the cost of the scheduled services.

WHAT IS CLEMENTINE'S LATE POLICY?

We are able to hold your appointment for 15 minutes past the scheduled appointment time. After the 15 minute mark, we may need to reschedule your appointment.

WHAT IS CLEMENTINE'S "NO SHOW" POLICY?

If a client has not shown up for his/her scheduled appointment once before, Clementine's reserves the right to restrict online booking and require a 50% deposit to make a new appointment.  The deposit will go towards your service and will be collected when booking the appointment.  The deposit is non-refundable.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BALAYAGE AND FOIL HIGHLIGHTS?

Balayage is a great method to give soft, sun-kissed highlights.  Balayage utilizes a hand-swept highlight that processes in open air or with plastic film. The majority of the highlight lives through the mid-shaft and ends, but is softly connected to the base.

Choose if you want...

  • Not lifting more than four levels in a single service
  • Low maintenance color
  • To create a color melt or sombre
  • o soften the regrowth of foil highlights

Foil highlighting is a great tool for achieving higher lifting highlights.  The heat induction from the foil allows the lightener to lift higher in a concentrated area.

Choose if you want...

  • To be lifted more than four levels in a single service
  • Dramatic color contrast between highlights/lowlights
  • To transition from a very blonde to a softer sombre to isolate the initial lowlight

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOME BOX DYE AND THE PROFESSIONAL DYE USED AT CLEMENTINE’S?

Home box dye is a “one size fits all” type of product. Professional colorists use many variations of colors and developers to achieve the best look for you. The main factors considered when choosing the right customization for you involves evaluating the pigments in your hair, skin tone, level of porosity, and percentage of gray.
Application at home is tricky, even if using a brush. For an even and healthy color application, the dye must be applied precisely from the regrowth to the demarcation line. Incorrect application also results in damaged, straw-like hair. Box color instructions do not direct you to apply to the demarcation line and only refreshing the ends when needed. This results in over application and damages the hair much more than professional application.
The cost to fix box dye mistakes is much greater than a regular color service in the salon. Color correction services are lengthy and labor some at an average of $100 per hour.
